Harvard Architecture

19The Harvard architecture includes two data busses in its design, its distinguishing characteristic from the von-Neumann architecture. The data busses are of different sizes; one is 8 bits and the other can be anywhere from 12 to 16 lines. The two busses allow the CPU to read instructions and to get data from the memory at the same time, as not all data is passed through the same bus.

The Harvard architecture is very widely used.
